About the Patrol

The Kelly Canyon Ski Patrol is an extension of the National Ski Patrol that provides medical, rescue, and hazard prevention services to the guests within Kelly Canyon Ski Resort boundaries and sometimes beyond into backcountry settings. The patrol is mainly volunteers with over 100 members. Our members come from all walks of life to help the community and are composed of downhill skiers, snowboarders, and telemark skiers. All members complete annual and ongoing training to stay on top of their skills including medical, avalanche, chairlift evacuation, and search and rescue techniques.      

The Kelly Canyon Ski Patrol is on the mountain daily to set up the mountain prior to opening by providing trail checks and setting up the necessary equipment for the day. At the end of the day, the patrol conducts sweep operations to clear the mountain for closing. Throughout the day we circulate on the mountain providing for our guests.
